On my Slackware 9.1 system, there is a guide to the tetex
package, including all its variations, in html format. It is
located at: /usr/doc/tetex-2.0.2/index.html
You can simply run lynx with that location as its argument. Other
distributions may have placed the documentation somewhere else.
The guide gives recommended readings, web sites, and mailing
lists where help can be found. I am no expert with this facility,
only a distant admirer <smile> but the approach seems to hold
much promise. In my case I do not have a Windows environment
available to use for WP or MS Word, and learning LaTeX seems to
me to be preferable to reverting to Windows, with all its
instabilities, vulnerabilities, proprietary formats, and costly
access tools. No way! Not simply to keep an old skill alive.

PS: How do you do that time travel trick?
