These parameters are set in the files under the directory /proc/speakup.
To see what is there just do an ls on the directory. To see what the
various items are set to use cat. For example to see your rate do "cat
/proc/speakup/rate". To change the rate use echo for example "echo 9
>/proc/speakup/rate" sets the rate on my doubletalk to 9. If you attempt
