I can see that the braille display might be useable.  I agree that nothing
is impossible, but would the cost be worth the gain?

Yes it is a straight Win Ce evnironment.  But it would be possible to make
it work as a external synthand/or braille display.  What is required:

Tech specs for the Braille display and the PACMate usb connection.  If we
had the tech specs for the braille display then someone could write a USB
driver for linux.  Then BrlTTy could use the Braille display.  The PACMate
would be more a difficult problem.  The PACMate would require special
software on the unit to handle the input via usb, network or what ever means
you decided to connect the unit.

Nothing is impossible, as long as you have the time and knowledge.
