parallel port types

Hi all. Some months ago I was trying to figure out why I couldn't cat stuff to lp0 and have the braille blazer emboss the output...And I've come to the conclusion that it has to do with the 
fact that the port is using a type that isn't supported by the Blazer. Does anyone know what type/types are supported? Thanks!
