You specified an older type key. Rerun as:
ssh-keygen -t dsa
and just accept the defaults. Do not put in a password--unless you don't mind typing it every time you connect.
Do this for every user you may be. In other words, I do it as janina and as root.
Now, leave the original files in .ssh. Take each .pub file and cat it with >> to authorized_keys. This will give you one file that you can copy to every machine you need to connect to as whatever user you are. The first time you'll be prompted whether you want to continue. If you say yes, an entry is made in .ssh/known_hosts, and you'll never be prompted again.
