If you have a digital camera, you might consider taking a picture of the
connector, and e-mailing it to a tech person and perhaps they can tell you
what it is for sure.

It's most likely going to be the 50-pin narrow SCSI connecter. I have an old
desktop somewhere around here that's got onboard SCSI and the external
connecter sounds like the one you are describing.
