Apollo Synth not running with Slackware 10.0

Hi listers, I recently downloaded both the Slackware 10.0 cdroms and
Joseph C. Lieninger's modified Slackware 10.0 cdroms and tried to install
slackware 10.0. At the boot prompt I entered the same parameters as with
slackware 9.1 but my apollo synth didn't talk.
Has anyone got an idea what's wrong or what I can do to still install
Slackware? Is it possible that it's got something to do with speakup being
modularized? I hope there's someone who can help me or tell me what I can
do.
