Pine not saving NNTP-based authnetification information

Hi their.  I was wondering how I can make Pine save auth inforamtion for 
NNTP server across sessions?  I have noticed that when I enter my login 
information and for some reason exit pine, the settings are not saved in 
my ~/.pinerc.  I have looked at the file and I don't see any sections 
where I can manually input the variables for user and password.  Any help 
would be appreciated.
