Finally getting to this.  I have calculated out the software costs for you.  The other thing I didn't mention was the annual maintenance.  I think you should purchase AM so that you will have ongoing support.  But this is a decision you can  make after you've had a chance to evaluate the software.

To download OCRShop XTR:

1. Ftp to:     vividata.com
2. Log in as:  ocrxtr
   Password:   nvd21lw7
3. Make sure your transfer type is binary.
4. Change into the directory "xtrcli".
5. Depending on your operating system, get the appropriate distribution file:

    ocrxtr.4.61.3.sun_5x.tar.gz
    ocrxtr.4.61.6b.linux.tar.gz
 
   Note that the OCRShop XTR manual is also available for download
   from this same ftp directory.


To install OCRShop XTR:

(These instructions are specific for the Solaris distribution; the
file and directory names will be slightly different for Linux.)

1. Log in as root.

2. Save the distribution file to a temporary location.

3. Unzip and untar the file with the commands:

    gunzip ocrxtr.4.61.3.sun_5x.tar.gz
    tar xvf ocrxtr.4.61.3.sun_5x.tar

4. A new directory will be created called "vividata_sun_5x_4.61".
   Change into this directory.

5. Run the installer with the command:

    ./installer

   A graphical installer will appear and lead you through the
   installation process.  It will prompt you for your license key
   at the end.
