compared to the hardware dectalk, yeah that's a good price. I'm 
waiting for a good free speach engine for linux...or festival to get 
improved whatever comes first. the main place I'd use software speach 
would be with gnome but having a few of my boxes run yasr or something 
wouldn't hurt. at least I wouldnt have to drag my external synth 
around all the time.
