The famous speaker who no one had heard of said:

They are mistaken, for 2 reasons:
a)  They will have to spend more money on bandwidth to send the entire script to
    the browser instead of just executing it on the server.

b)  The processor time it takes to execute a little script on the server is
    negligable compared to the amount of bandwidth it takes to send it to the
    browser.
