VMWare with Speakup.

Hi All.

Has anyone run Linux in a VMWare environment with Speakup?

I am looking at options for setting up Linux on my laptop without
reformatting it.  I still need the Windows virus  (grin).  My second option
is to use an external USB drive and install Linux on to that.  Not sure what
problems might occur or what Kernel or Lilo probelms that might occur.

Any info on these two points would be greatful.
