Hi Alex
I have an older DecTalk, with the 4.6 firmware.
I don't know how old mine is, but it is black, and the dimensions are about:
1 inch by 3 inches by 6 inches
and it's on/off switch is in the front right hand corner.
So if that tells you anything, perhaps you have the same model as I do.

on this same topic, is the firmware in the old dectalk external (the
one entended for ivr systems) upgradable? I'm just curious because I
have one of those manufactured in 1982 running v2.0 of the firmware,
but people I've talked to have newer boxes running 1.8 firmware.
