Speakup on x86_64

Hi,

Has anybody compiled Speakup into a x86_64 kernel yet?  I tried building
into the latest Fedora 2 2.6.8 kernel as well as the stock 2.6.8.1 but
both failed in the same place.  Unfortunately none of my other Linux boxes
are on Fedora 2 (or even a 2.6 kernel) so I can't try the same build on a
different architecture.  I'm resisting the urge to build a i386 gcc on
my Athlon 64 box to cross-compile.

Anyway, before I get into detailed messages curious as to the status of
Speakup on x86_64?
