problem installing with cdrom

Hello all,
I am having what I think is a strange problem, maybe its not so strange I don't know.  Anyway, when i try to install slackware from a cdrom everything goes fine until it comes to installing packages.  It acts like its installing them, but it takes forever to install one package and it doesn't install the whole package.  
In another cdrom drive I tried, it works fine.  What could be going wrong?

ps. I am trying to install this on a dell computer
