recording from phone

How about a phone aptch? It's a suction cup that sticks on the back of the
phone, and plugs into a standard microphone jack, and records the audio as
if it's a microphone.

I would like to know the  best way to record what's going on  on my phone
line; my cordless phone has one of thos really skinny audio plugs, but I've
never seen a plug for those on any soundcard that I've ever seen.
