converting text files to sound files

I hgave --wave as an example - I am 100% sure that there is a command line
switch but as I said I don't have Festival installed to try it out!  Just
try festival --help and see what it says.

Well, festival doesn't have a --wave option but it does have a utility
called text2wave. It supposedly runs from the command line, but so far i
haven't actually gotten it to produce a wave file.
Will let you know if/when i succeed.
