problems compiling FLite

Hmmmm, why would you be shot?
I was going to write in hours and hours ago and say that there was a
debian package, but then I realized the distribution being used wasn't
debian. Had I been aware there was a Redhat/fedora rpm, I'd have written
and said: "USE THE RPM". I certainly hope one doesn't have to compile
everything on his/her own box to be a REAL linux user--smile!!!
