Laptops that Linux likes?

I have Linux running on a Dell Latitude C600 and it recognized the onboard hardware with no problems. The only issues I've had thus far are that the sound drivers like to downsample audio to half its original resolution, and I am not sure how to get my Linksys WPC11 recognized for wireless access.
