linux pda for the blind

Hello,

I am brand new to linux.  I am trying to find a way to use a off the shelf linux pda.  Is there a way to install something like emacspeak and dectalk express on it?  I see many new linux pda  comming out for the sighted and want to figure out how a blind person can use them with talking software.  I am looking for some good direction to be pointed to or any suggestions from this mailing list.
