Linux and ip address

You want to find out what ip address you currently have? If so what I do is run
set from the shell prompt there's a variable like remote_addr. Sometimes this
doesn't display if you use a t or cshell client but will if you tmporarily set
your shell to sh. Another way to find out is to login to another system outside
your network, logout then log back in to the same system. Usually you'll see
the last time you logged in and what ip address you had.
