One thing I will say for this; when I hit contrl-alt-backspace to get out
of it it really does close down, except that you do have to kill usound.
when I was trying garnome and gnopernicus, I always had processes that
didn't shut down until I went in and issued specific commands. so if it
doesn't work for you, it still shouldn't hang up your system.
