moving a slackware install

Just because you mounted it as UMSDOS doesn't mean it will act like
UMSDOS.  You have to run umssync on the directory after mounting it to
give it UMSDOS status instead of regular DOS status.  Unfortunately, the
documentation on UMSDOS is poorly written and very hard to follow.  I get
the impression that the author was not fluent in English and had nobody to
help him proofread his work.
