Gnopernicus 0.7.0 included in Slackware???

You are confusing Festival with FreeTTS.  Festival just needs C++ to
build.  Also, as of Slackware 9.1, they include the full Java SDK as an
optional package in the D series.  As to the other question, Gnopernicus
doesn't support any hardware synthesizers to my knowledge.
