playing with java again

Hi all. I am playing with java yet again to see if I successfully can run
programs. However, I have discovered that the main java binary can't find
libjava.so. This file is present on my system. Where is the java binary
attempting to look for this file? I can't seem to figure out where. Anyone
have any ideas? Thanks!
