debian 3.0r1a bootdisks with speakup

Been there, done that.  I could boot and actually run the install and
even install part of the basic system with no problems but as soon as
I want to do anything bigger like configuring network devices, sound
card, or any of that, I run into a bunch of module loading errors;
cannot resolve bla bla...  That was where I left it.

I understand we're a lot closer now as I think someone at debian has
worked up a speakup package for kernel building.  I saw a message a
while back that Deedra Waters was looking into fixing something up or
correcting something with it.
