fedora and nepernicus x-window system requirements

I found from installing redhat that muting the speech, with the control key,
whenever it announces some information speeds up the installation.

Slow processers with low memory like 16 meg will take a *VERY* *VERY* long
time to compile larg things like the linux kernel.  Compiling the kernel on
my p120 16 meg laptop takes over five hours to complete!
