Hmm. Well, if I remember correctly, the stock kernel NTFS has a very buggy write support, which can't write to NTFS partitions created under win2k or winxp. 
Can mandrake write to these partitions? If so, then they've obviously beafed up the NTFS support, either internally or via a patch. If mandrake can write to ntfs 
2k and xp partitions, I might just have to go grab the mandrake kernel srpm and see if it's a patch that I can take advantage of in fedora.
