dynamic dns

Actually, I know bind can do dynamic dns, but I've never set it up,
and I've heard that it's not a walk in the park.

What I do here is have standard dns zones for lan.lan, and for
192.168.x.x, and do dynamic dns that way. Say for example that a
machine is initially assigned 192.168.0.5 by the dhcp server, which
would give it the name of pc-guest-5.lan.lan on my lan domain. Then,
say that machine refreshes it's ip assignment a few hours later, and
gets 192.168.0.12, in which case it's host name becomes
pc-guest-12.lan.lan.

This isn't dynamic dns per say, but it does the job all the same.
