Partition removal

Uh oh.  I know this is a blasphemous question.  A co worker has a laptop 
with a 10 gig drive.  Apparently half has win98, and half has linux.  He 
wants to remove the linux partition, but needs for the time being to leave 
the other intact.  Any step by steps on what is needed to do this?  My 
thought was sell it to me as I want a linux laptop (grin).  But apparently 
he needs to do it this way.  Any ideas??  Thanks as always.
