Got it working. It was ld.so.conf actually but I added /usr/local/lib and reran ldconfig and it works! really nice README also. Thanks so much to all who have worked on it. I didn't work with the bookshare book I tried--as I knew it might not--but great with the iso. and having the coice of text and/or audio is neat. thanks again. cheryl Cheryl
