punctuation delay after restarting dectalk

I have experienced the same problem and find that it degrades more each 
time you turn the dectalk off and on again.  Probably should be some 
script that could be run to reset the detalk.  If I knew how to do it, 
then I would write it.  Oh, the woes of the novice.
