getting rid of popping sounds in recordings

One of the nice things about gramofile is that it splits your original 
recording into separate tracks when it is getting rid of the popping 
sounds.  I'm still not sure which values to adjust, you have a myriad of 
options and filters.  The basic stuff works extremely well with Speakup.
