Fetchmail getting server response of don't do ssl?

Hi All,

	So my friend Peter can't get his mail and gets some error about 
the server does not accept ssl.  He does not have ssl enabled as far as I 
can see.  is there a switch to say to not use ssl or is it not used by 
default?
