Hi:

The serial port parameter is not mandatory, as speakup will probe for the
synth.  However, if speakup has trouble finding the synth or you want to
specifically restrict speakup to looking on a given port, then use this.

And someone else said that the correct string for the synth was dtlk.  It
is, of course, dectlk.  dtlk is for the doubletalk PC.
