Hi Matt.
Put it in as part of your current append statement in /etc/lilo.conf you
don't want/need to make a new line as this will likely cause you no end of
problems.
If it helps as a reference my append line looks like this:
The HDC reference refers to my cdrw.
Append="speakup_synth=acntsa hdc=ide-scsi"
