an in-place file splitter

if ahnyone's interested in a half-completed file splitter that can split "in
place" if you know what you are doing,
let me know and i will try to send it. currently it's written in python and
i am on a winblows box so i'm a bit stuck at the moment, that is myreason
for writing it.
if anyone's interested, email me, and i can try to polish it off and give it
an interface instead of a python command prompt.
current it is just a function that returns a list of chunks from a file
handle that you must open manually.
you also must save the list manulally.
