newbie battle over debian, redhat or slackware

I agree with Janina.  Why on earth would Kirk want to deal with the
sourceforge stuff, then we'd have to fight through their horrible website
to find the damn thing; well, at least if we actually wanted the sources.
It's not too bad once you get used to it, but what he's got right now, is
infinitely better.
