Or you can do "tar zvtf tarball.tar.gz |less" and the listing of the
tarball will be piped into less for your viewing.  This listing will also
reveal the directory structure within.  I didn't realize less could read
tar files.  <hmmm> have to give that a try since I also have slackware.
