audio galaxy

What happened to me when running the satellite as a normal user was that it didn't share some files. Let's say I had 90 mp3s. Whenever I started it up, it would say somthing like files scanned: 87 newfiles: 3. Every time I would start it up again, it would do that, so I just ran it as root, and it shared everything. Yes, the permissions on all the files and the shared directory were read and write for the normal user, the normal user's group, and the world.
I put my binary in /usr/local/bin, and I put account.txt and shares.txt in /root/.

So, I'm still running it as root. It's a good thing that I have no one else here who knows gnu/linux, or I would have a big security whole in my apartment. As it is, I hope that no one from the outside world is able to crash and exploit the program to gain access to the console on which it runs. If it could be exploited, then I guess I'm screwed.
