html and cgi help

Check permissions and ownership. The correct answer will vary by
the distro you're running.

For example:

In Red Hat systems, your default directory for web pages is
/var/www/html. In that location you have a directory cgi-bin that
should look something like:

drwxr-xr-x    2 apache   root         4096 Jan 29 12:58 cgi-bin/


Notice that it's owned by user apache who is part of groyup root.

Therein I have a perl application as follows:

-r-x------    1 apache   root         4141 Jan 28 22:27 Calcium36

I would let you at it, but this is intentionally not world
accessible as it's part of internal AFB services on my office
machine.
