Hello Jed;  Long time, no hear-from, and all that.

First, the speakup program works nicely with Redhat 7.x; I use it with
7.2.  Pine and lynx are quite doable with speakup.  Finally, yes, it
works with your speakout external synthesizer.  

If you wish to get started, begin with the 'how-to' and installation
documents on <http://linux-speakup.org>.  Also, look for the
speakup-ready versions of the major distributions such as Redhat on
the speakup ftp area.  Anything else I can do?  Contact me off-list.
