smbclient tar and windows shares

Hi all,

Has anyone used smbclient's tar capibilities to backup and restore the full windows c drive? I know that some backup software doesn't backup some windows files (such as dlls for example) if they are in use. Can the smbclient tar program backup everything even if it is in use? Does it also backup the full registry so that the full system right down to the last file could be restored? Thanks.
