synth detection problems

  Try "mode com1 96,n,8,1" whith out the quotes.
  I don't know what the serial settings are for the dectalk.  The setting
abuv works whith the doubletalk light.  BTW I got away from using the mode
command to set the serial port on a dos boot floppy or in dos was to go into
the bios setup and change the serial port from auto to 03f8 - 03ff irq 4.  I
don't know why this has an effect on using the mode command, but it does.
