Vacation program.

Curious to know if any of you have tried to vacation program.  I've read 
the man, and see the gist of it, but when I type vacation, I see where it 
gives a subject and a generic message, but then I'm stuck in whatever it 
feels is the editor, and end up having to kill it.
with killall to get out.  As always, I'm probably missing something.
