Fetchmail annoyance

Definitely use biff n.

However, I believe the question was about fetchmail.

Put a line like this in your .fetchmailrc or /etc/fetchmailrc
set daemon 300

That will tell fetchmail to check your mail every 5 minutes (300
seconds) and you'll never see it. 

Course, I spose you could always say
fetchmail [arguments here] > /dev/null &&
and then you'd only see error messages.
