serial console question

sorry for posting this to the list but i can't type your emial address - it's sort of ahrd ;) anyway:
can you send me the boot disks and i'll figure it out?
alternately:
try changing one of the consoles (e.g. tty1) to console.
/dev/console usually points to the first console, as far as i remember.
here is a ls -l:
crw--w--w-    1 root     tty        5,   1 Mar 13 13:49 /dev/console
