mounting the partimage boot disk

Hi all.

Can someone please tell me what file system the partimage boot disk has? I'd like to have a look at the layout, and be able to put a speakup kernel on there to give it a try. However, when I do "mount /dev/fd0 /floppy" after writing the image with dd to a disk, mount tells me that I need to specify a filesystem type. I've tried ext2 and minix with no success. Thanks in advance.
