problem with speakup and artic synth?

Hi there,
When you actually listen to the output of this command, do you hear the -rwxr-xr-x bit?
I mean while its being read, not while you review (when you review things work fine).
My problem could be peculiar to the transport, and may even be peculiar to rom revision 1.5 (there is also a 1.6).
I'm not greatly concerned, tomorrow is my last day with the synth, and I'm sure it won't occur with whatever I buy.
