Mandrake 8.1 problem

Hi, I got the same problems when trying to build my own Speakup kernels for
Mandrake 8.1.
I solved it by download the kernel sources from kernel.org, and used that.
As to your question Mandrake makes propriatary  changes to there kernel
sources.
So I tend to get generic kernel sources, and that works fine.
